Sport Clubs

UCR Sport Clubs are an exciting alternative to Intramural Sports and offers a way of getting involved in a fun and competitive environment. Rugby, soccer, volleyball, kendo, and ballroom dancing clubs compete against other college teams. We have various highly competitive sports and Rec club teams. Each club team is developed, organized, and managed by students with guidance from the competitive sports assistant director.

With over 19 teams to participate in and 1,000 members, UCR sport clubs provide a great way to get exercise, make new friends and have fun playing a sport that you love.

Join a sport club and compete against UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount and other regional and national schools.

Tier System

Sport Clubs is comprised of three different tiers: National, Regional, and Conditional.  Each sport club is divided amongst the different tiers dependent upon the qualifications of each tier.  All clubs and their members must abide by the requirements and standards stated under each tier, which you will find below.

Note: The UCR Recreation Competitive Sports program & NIRSA recognizes and celebrates the transgender student population amongst their league tournament participants. Through the guiding policies of the NIRSA Championship Series tournaments, NIRSA empowers students to participate in intramural sports and sport club divisions based on their expressed gender identity.
