Practice the techniques and movement of climbing without ropes. Generally, bouldering emphasizes individual power moves rather than the endurance of roped climbing. We provide instruction, shoes, chalk, pads, and spotters.
Dates: Available as a Custom Excursion
Learning to set up top-ropes is one of the first steps to safely rock climb on your own. This workshop will cover the basic climbing knots; strengths and appropriate uses of webbing, cord, rope, carabiners, and protection; types of anchors (natural vs. artificial and fixed vs. placed); the principles of RENE; and practice placing gear and building anchors. You must have some climbing experience and safe belay skills to participate.
