1. DEPOSITS - All non-UCR Students will be required to place a security deposit (Visa, Master Card or Discover only) for each item rented. This includes all UCR Faculty and Staff and SRC Members that are not UCR students. Campus departments using recharge will not be required to place a deposit.

2. ELIGIBILITY - Rental equipment is available to anyone 18 and over with valid ID. UCR students must show valid UCR ID at the time reservation or rental. Non-UCR students must show a current government-issued ID. Each customer is allowed to rent only 2 items of each type.

3. LATE FEES - A late fee of twice the “additional day” rate will be charged for each day an item is overdue. We do not waive late fees. Items more than 1 week overdue will be considered lost, and you will be charged for the replacement cost of the item.

4. RESERVATIONS - Reservations can be made up to 28 days in advance and must be accompanied by full payment. Reservations are accepted in person, or over the phone with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover).

5. EQUIPMENT NOT PICKED UP - Equipment must be picked up on the date specified, during office hours, or the equipment will be made available to others.

6. CANCELLATIONS - Cancelations or changes less than 3 days before pick up are not eligible for a refund or credit. Reservations changed or canceled more than 3 days before the pick up day will not receive a refund but will receive a full credit to be used towards a future rental or trip.

7. REFUNDS - No refunds or credits will be made due to weather, road conditions, or equipment not picked up, unused or returned early. Only cancelations made by Outdoor Excursions will result in a full refund.

8. RESPONSIBILITY - The renter is responsible for the equipment checked out and for its return in proper condition. Equipment must be returned clean, dry and in good rental condition or a cleaning / damage fee will be assessed.

9. DAMAGE / REPLACEMENT - A replacement fee will be due for any lost, stolen or unrepairable equipment. The Outdoor Excursions staff will determine the amount of these charges. The maximum fee is the full retail value of the equipment (deposit amount).
